FAQs
What if I think my horse has been stolen?
Act quickly to determine if your horse has gotten out of its pen or may have been stolen. See our page on Stolen Horses.
Does WCHTD still pursue horse thieves?
While our organization honors the tradition of those who pursued and captured horse thieves, we rely on law enforcement for those efforts today.
What does it cost to be a member of WCHTD?
While for many decades there was an annual membership fee, in the 1940s a lifetime membership fee of $3.00 was established. Out of tradition and fun, we have not increased that amount in over 80 years. We welcome additional donations from members and non-members.
Do I have to live in Waseca County, Minnesota to be a member?
NO! We have members in all 50 states and 13 countries. We warmly welcome anyone who wishes to honor the tradition and purposes of the Waseca County Horse Thief Detectives.
What organizations does WCHTD support?
Among the organizations we work with and support include the Waseca County History Center, Waseca Sleigh & Cutter Festival, Waseca County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Mounted Sheriff’s Posse Association and Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association.
